Ella
I found Ella and her son Enzo homeless in Alabama as I was driving in March 2021 from Florida to the ranch in Morris. They had been living on the street for a while, both were heartworm positive and intact and so malnourished that I didn't realize Ella was pregnant until 2 weeks before she gave birth to 7 adorable puppies.
Ella is the absolute sweetest and most perfect dogs ever and has yet to meet a stranger. Literally everyone who meets her immediately loves her. She's approx. 8 years old in 2025 and will make the perfect Therapy dog which I am working on getting her licensed for.
Ella is currently located in Big Bear, California and hopefully becoming a Therapy dog soon.
Scrappy
Scrappy, a NYC ACC alumni, is a Chihuahua-mix, ​approx. 12 years young, neutered and weighs around 15lbs. He is a sweet old man who takes some time with new people. He's a very happy, faithful and loyal little dog who loves getting spoilt.
He came to us with a Grade 5 heart murmur and progressed to an early stage of heart failure. He is on medication and regular check ups and placed with a hospice foster (fospice) in Syracuse, NY where he is getting spoiled like the little prince that he is. He's been stable for 6 months without further progression of his disease so we are positive that he'll enjoy a few more years.
Scrappy is in Hospice care with a wonderful foster family in Syracuse, NY
Lola
Lola is an American Pit Bull Terrier according to DNA testing, was born approx. 2020 and weighs a good 50 lbs. She came from Louisiana where she'd been abused by a (male) shelter worker in the public (kill) shelter, repeatedly. So unsurprisingly she became wary of people and came to us being a fear snapper. Lola has gone through a tremendous transformation within the last 3 years. She has learnt to trust again, has become the absolute cutest love bug, loves to be cuddled and handled, picked up and rolled around, kissed and spoilt. Lola has built up her confidence enough to be happy to meet strangers and if they are calm-assertive she'll make fast friends. She listens really well and follows me around like my shadow. She does love tracking scents and loves running around and is great off leash. She will need an active human who will take her trail riding, hiking or running. At home she is excellent. She loves her crate and cushy dog beds, and will just sleep until it's time for the next walk. She loves all dogs, is good with cats, has learnt to be good around chickens and ducks, goats, donkeys and horses. She is learning about and getting better with bicycles. Lola is located in Big Bear, California.
Mattie
How a perfect little lapdog ends up being dumped in the High Desert is beyond comprehension to us, especially since he is house trained (a first for a small dog newcomer in our rescue!). A good Samaritan who saw how a car stopping, dropping Mattie and droving off, took him in and contacted us. While he is awaiting his neuter surgery, Mattie is available for foster or foster-to-adopt pending his neuter.
He is estimated to be 6 years old, weighs less than 10lbs, loves other dogs, is great with cats, loves people, is easy to walk on a leash and loves riding shotgun in the car, looking outside at the world passing by.

Honey
A chocolate English Lab girl - the absolute dream dog! I might not be objective on this subject with my love for chocolate English Labs, but let me tell you, Honey is the absolute perfect Lab! She is adorable, sweet, friendly, social, playful - and did I mention sweet? She's house trained, approximately 3 years old, 75lbs and apparantely (ab)used as a breeding bitch before being dumped in the High Desert with her puppy. By the time someone decided to save them the puppy had been taken by someone else, leaving Honey behind.
As soon as I saw her I decided to rescue her and went to get her. She had wounds all over her body with other skin issues going on and seemed pregnant (which luckily she wasn't).
Honey seems to have allergies which might have caused the wounds by her scratching herself raw. She has received an allergy shot and it's already showing promising improvement with reduced itchiness. As soon as she's better Honey will get spayed. Until then she is ready for a foster home or foster-to-adopt.
