About Us
The Sweet Life Animal Rescue was founded in April 2021 on a beautiful 190-acre property in the heart of Central New York. Our mission is to protect animals from cruelty, neglect, and slaughter by rescuing, rehabilitating, and retiring them on the ranch, or rehoming them with loving FurEver Families.
The more people who get involved, the stronger we become. Adopt, don’t shop! Foster, volunteer, donate!
Where We Are Today
At the end of 2024, we transitioned to a fully foster-based rescue while we search for a new, more sustainable location. Judith is currently helping animals in and around Big Bear, California.

To save more animals, we need dedicated foster homes. You can foster from anywhere in the U.S., as long as you can commit to caring for your foster until the right home is found.

Rescue
How It All Began
While driving from her previous home in Florida to the Ranch in Central New York, where she planned to start her own rescue, Judith came across two homeless dogs in the northwest corner of Alabama. The locals knew them but did little to help. After several unsuccessful phone calls and emails, Judith decided to take them in on the spot, making them the first two rescues of what would become The Sweet Life Animal Rescue.
Those two were the incredibly sweet Labs, Ella and Enzo. They arrived with a surprise: seven adorable puppies, born May 1, 2021, who became the first animals The Sweet Life successfully rehomed.
What Rescue Really Takes
Rescue is about so much more than taking animals in and finding them homes. It means veterinary care and treatment, including dental work and chiropractic care when needed, plus vaccinations, microchipping, food, bedding, and more.
It Takes a Village
We cannot do this without your help. Whether you give your time, your resources, or both, every hour and every dollar makes a difference. Thank you for being part of the village.
Rehab
Healing Body, Mind, and Soul
Most of our animals arrive with health issues that need attention, and many require long-term care. Many come to us from situations of neglect or abuse, or after accidents.
Our care goes beyond the physical. We support emotional recovery through energy work for mind, body, and soul, along with socialization, species-appropriate living conditions, and plenty of love and patience.

The more we can rehome the more we can rescue.
